The Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR) is now accepting nominations for the Nominations and Leadership Development Committee (NLDC). This committee plays a vital role in shaping the future of CUR’s leadership by identifying, recruiting, and vetting candidates for Board-level positions and supporting the long-term development of a robust leadership pipeline.

Nominations and Leadership Development Committee (NLDC) Expectations
The Nominations and Leadership Development Committee (NLDC) help uphold a fair and transparent nominations process, identifying emerging leaders, and aligning talent recruitment with CUR’s long-term vision and organizational needs. NLDC members serve as year-round contributors and:
• Participate in NLDC meetings and any required CUR leadership meetings, such as the Annual Leadership Meeting
• Partner with CUR leadership and staff to assess the skills, qualities, and diversity needed in each Board election cycle
• Identify and recruit high-potential candidates for Board-level leadership
• Conduct a fair and thorough vetting process and present a slate of qualified candidates
• Oversee and implement election procedures in collaboration with the CUR National Office
• Support outreach, education, and pipeline development to cultivate future CUR leaders
• Commit to a two-year term and maintain active CUR membership
