Arrow Rock Oral History Project Starter Questionnaire

This questionnaire will help us as we prepare to capture your oral history during a sit-down interview. There are 20 questions -- use the slider on the right side of the page to scroll down. Interviews will be scheduled over the next several months. Please be as candid as possible on both the survey and in your interview. Share anything you are comfortable sharing. Not every Arrow Rock story is a happy one, but they are all important. Don't feel you need to write lengthy answers to these preliminary questions -- that's what the interview is for. Just provide enough information to give us some direction.
.Your name
.Spouse's/partner's name (if applicable)
.Telephone number
.Email address
.Current mailing address (including street address if in Arrow Rock)
.Past or present Arrow Rock street address, if it is different from your current address. Also include a description of the location of your house (northeast corner of Sixth and High, for example).
.If this project is turned into a book at some point, may we have your permission to share stories in the book that we have collected from you?
.When did you move to Arrow Rock? If you have moved away, when and why did you leave? Did you live here full-time or part-time?
.What attracted you to Arrow Rock?
.If you are a lifelong Arrow Rocker, tell us about a memorable person from your childhood. If you arrived here later, tell us about someone you met early on who left a memorable first impression. Tell us what you recall about that encounter.
.Other than your home, do you have a favorite place in Arrow Rock? Why is that place special to you?
.Which local organizations, committees, churches, etc. do you/did you participate in?
.You do not need to elaborate here -- we'll talk during your recorded interview -- but tell us briefly about a special memory or two that took place in Arrow Rock.
.In what ways has Arrow Rock changed since you came here?
.In what way(s) have you contributed to the community that you hope will have a lasting impact?
.What is/was your favorite Arrow Rock event? (Be as specific or as general as you want -- if there was one particular 4th of July parade or craft festival, for example, that you'll always remember, tell us why it was so special.)
.I wish everyone could have known ... (Give us the name of a special Arrow Rocker who is no longer living). Tell us why that person made such a lasting impression on you.
.Have you ever owned a business in Arrow Rock? If so, tell us the name, location, year it opened/closed, and a little about the business.
.Complete this statement: When I'm gone, I hope Arrow Rockers will say this about me ...
.Tell us about any other things you'd like to talk about when we sit down for your recorded interview.
