The Central Virginia Nonprofit Compensation, Benefits, and Work Culture survey project consists of three separate surveys. The surveys are online until December 8th. Please note that these surveys are only for nonprofits serving the Richmond Metro area, inclusive of the tri-cities. Select "Next" below to register and participate. 

The report from the surveys will be published in early 2024 and distributed free of charge to survey participants.
 
Here is a quick summary of the three surveys. (Participation in all three surveys is not mandatory.)
 
#1 Central Virginia Pay Equity Survey
 
Who takes it: Your employees
 
How long does it take: 4 minutes/survey
 
 Survey questions are on:
  • Pay
  • Job Title
  • Work experience and education level
  • Demographic factors (includes age and ESL)
  • Employees' perception of their pay relative to similar roles in their organization and the market
  • Employees' perceptions of their employer benefits

Goal: Evaluate the pay of nonprofit employees working in Central Virginia who perform similar or comparable work and identify any gaps or disparities. Evaluate employees' perception of their employer's pay, benefits, and promotion practices.
 
#2 Central Virginia Nonprofit Compensation, Benefits and Work Culture Survey
 
Who takes it: Administrators (Executive Directors, office admin, HR or payroll staff)
 
How long does it take: 45 minutes – 60 minutes
 
The survey has a prep workbook to help you move through the process more efficiently. Additional administrative and prep support is available for nonprofits with limited operational staff, please email compsurvey@warrenwhitney.com for more information.

  • Pay practices (e.g., merit increases)
  • Employer's benefits (e.g., retirement contributions)
  • Employer's recognition practices (e.g., years of service awards)
Goal: Help nonprofit employers working in Central Virginia understand how their pay, benefits, and practices position them in their local market. 
 
#3 Director Service Provider Supplement Survey
 
Who takes it: Administrators and Program Directors
 
How long does it take: 45 – 60 minutes
 
Survey questions are on:
  • Pay for 6 Direct Service positions
    • Licensed Social Worker
    • Social Worker
    • Case Manager (Behavioral Health, Medical, Other)
    • Intake Worker
  • Supervision practices, training and self-care
