South Burnett Regional Council - $500 Rates Email Incentive Raffle

PRIVACY COLLECTION NOTICE: South Burnett Regional Council collects your personal information for the purpose of processing this entry and for use in any Council matters. Your personal information is handled in accordance with the Information Privacy Act 2009 and will only be disclosed to a third party as per the South Burnett Regional Council Information Privacy Policy. A hard copy of this electronic document is considered uncontrolled when printed.
  • 1. This competition is run by the South Burnett Regional Council ('Council').
  • 2. The competition is open to all owners of eligible property other than Council employees and their family members registered as co-owners of the same property as the Council employee; Local, State or Federal government entities and their agencies.
  • 3. An eligible property is any land parcel or building unit, in Council’s local government area, that is not exempt from rates in accordance with Section 93(2) of the Local Government Act 2009.
  • 4. Entry to the competition is free and participation is limited to one entry per eligible property.
  • 5. The winner will receive as their prize a $500.00 credit against their eligible property. The credit will appear upon the next 6 monthly rate notice for the property. If the credit results in a negative closing balance, that balance will be carried forward to the subsequent rate levies, until the full value of the prize is received.
  • 6. To enter the competition, complete the link on Council website or email to Council at info@sbrc.qld.gov.au, not later than 5:00pm on 12 September 2025, your request for delivery of all rate notices by email, must include the Rate Notice Property Number from a recent rate notice for the eligible property. Council will confirm receipt of entries by return email, which will constitute proof of entry.
  • 7. By entering the competition, you accept these conditions.
  • 8. All valid entries that comply with condition six (6) will be recorded on a database list from which the Mayor or another Councillor will select the winning entry by a random number generator at the Council general meeting to be held on 17 September 2025, at Warren Truss Chambers Glendon Street Kingaroy.
  • 9. Council’s Chief Executive Officer, or a senior Council employee whom the Chief Executive Officer appoints, will act as competition adjudicator.
  • 10. The adjudicator will verify the winning entry and the entrant’s eligibility. The adjudicator’s decision will be final, and no correspondence will be entered into concerning the decision. Additionally, Council’s Chief Executive Officer may disqualify any invalid entry, before the Council meeting at which the winner is to be drawn at.
  • 11. The winner will be notified by email, sent to the email address from which the winner submitted their entry. Attached to the email will be a prize acceptance form, which the winner must sign and return to Council by email not later than fiver (5) business days after receipt of the Council notification.
  • 12. By accepting the prize, the winner agrees to being interviewed, photographed, and/or filmed by Council-authorised personnel, to their images being used for promotional purposes, and to Council retaining sole editorial control and marketing entitlement.
  • 13. Should Council not receive the signed acceptance form within the five (5) business days, Council may conduct a redraw at its next general meeting.
