For our upcoming 2021 Nonprofit Symposium, we are now seeking submissions of proposed sessions.
Each year we offer a wide variety of sessions in accounting, auditing, tax compliance, yellow book and management topics. Given the broad range of areas that our attendees often are responsible for, we also do incorporate technology innovations, and HR and other management/leadership topics into the program.
In addition to necessary standards updates, this year it would be of particular interest to see some sessions addressing implications for the sector’s “new normal”. This could include structural and procedural changes to the work environment, staffing and governance; return-to-office issues including evolving internal controls, policies and audit processes; budgeting and strategic planning/positioning during continued uncertainty; and case studies of how organizations weathered the pandemic and how they plan to move forward.
All submissions must be received electronically and will be considered by the GWSCPA Nonprofit Symposium Planning Committee, which is led by GWSCPA members. Selected speakers will be notified by June 15th, 2021. The conference is scheduled for November 16-18, 2021, on a virtual event platform. Should conditions change allowing us to offer this as a hybrid event, some sessions could be offered in person but we will make that determination at a later date and only with speakers who are willing to present in person. We are anticipating 800+ attendees.
Please note that all information must be completed and should be as detailed as possible for an adequate review of your proposal though we understand that your presentation itself will still be an outline at this point. Please review the FAQ before you submit, which contains important information about what topics and presentation formats are most welcome at this year’s event.
