INTRODUCTION

Dear Applicant,

AmCham is pleased to welcome you to our sixth annual CSR Recognition Award Program.

The program identifies and recognizes AmCham member companies that demonstrate an understanding of the linkages between business operations and society, and who conduct business in a way that creates both long-term economic and social value.

The Covid-19 crisis has uprooted the ways people work, learn, relax, and consume. In the face of unprecedented changes and impacts on companies’ own operations or in their supply chains, AmCham members have adopted a variety of responses, many actively putting resources, logistics, skills and innovative approaches at the service of the fight against the pandemic. For example, companies have taken extraordinary measures to ensure the continued supply of essential goods and services, and in some cases redirected production to manufacture protective products and health equipment.

Many companies have directed their staff to work from home, and, if not possible, have put in place hygiene protocols to protect their workers. Such protocols have also been put in place to ensure that goods and services provided to customers or clients do not put them at risk of contamination. To respond to economic risks facing workers, contractors and suppliers, some companies have taken proactive steps and made promises to shield them from unemployment, pay cuts or reductions in orders.

In addition, many AmCham members partnered with government and NGOs to donate goods, services, and money to people in need in communities around Vietnam. Together, these responses are crucial in addressing the economic repercussions and the health risks of the crisis.

There is no business, no sector and no economy beyond the reach of the devastating influence this epidemic. Even in this time of uncertainty and anxiety, AmCham members stepped up their CSR efforts to help address society’s needs during the Covid-19 crisis here. This year's award program recognizes the action and commitment of our many members who assisted Vietnam and the Vietnamese people during this extremely challenging time.

Your answers to this questionnaire will determine whether your company receives our CSR Recognition Award this year. The objective of AmCham's CSR rating methodology is to assess the quality of a company’s CSR management system-through its policies, implementation measures and results. This is NOT a competition and is designed to provide recognition for all members who achieve a baseline level of Covid-related CSR performance.
