The Village Alliance is exploring an expansion of services to neighboring commercial corridors.

For more than 30 years, Village Alliance has served as the Business Improvement District for the commercial heart of the Village — keeping its streets clean, maintaining its public spaces, and supporting its independent storefronts.

Today, our services are concentrated along 8th Street, University Place, Astor Place, and key segments of St. Mark’s Place and Sixth Avenue, in a neighborhood whose character extends well beyond the geographic boundaries we currently service.

Neighboring commercial corridors share the same low-scale streets, independent businesses, and public spaces that define the Village but do not have the dedicated services Village Alliance provides. Expanding our boundaries would close those service gaps, extend our greening investments to corridors that need them, create a stronger voice for the neighborhood’s institutions, and better support the shops, restaurants, cultural destinations, and residents that make the Village one of New York City’s most beloved places to live, work, and spend time.
