Application Process
The nomination and application period for the Leadership LSBA Class begins in the Spring of each year. Each candidate must complete the online application. Prior classes have ranged in size from 5 to 16.

Leadership LSBA Class Requirements

Prior to applying, the candidate should consider the commitment required. The candidate should have the time and ability to participate and fulfill the class requirements. By conclusion of the LSBA fiscal year (June 30), participants will be required to:

Attend one meeting of the Board of Governors;
Attend one meeting of the House of Delegates (January 2027 - Mandatory Attendance);
Attend one meeting of the Young Lawyers Division Council;
Attend one Budget Committee meeting of the Board of Governors;
Attend one meeting of the Access to Justice Committee;
Attend one meeting of a LSBA committee (chosen by participant);
Work with other members of the Leadership LSBA class to develop and implement a class project with the assistance of LSBA staff; and
Commit to serve on a LSBA committee, the year following completion of Leadership LSBA.

August 2026 - Orientation 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Class term: late August (orientation) to June (LSBA Annual Meeting).
