**Please read the instructions carefully about how scholarships are awarded before completing the application**
If you are a person previously resettled as a refugee to North America, you may be eligible for a scholarship to cover your registration fee to the 2026 International Refugee and Migration Health Conference (IRMHC) taking place June 26-28, 2026 in San Diego, California, United States.
About the conference
The International Refugee & Migration Health Conference (previously offered as the North American Refugee Health Conference or NARHC), held annually, is for anyone interested or working in the field of refugee, immigrant and newcomer health. The conference aims to educate attendees on the latest and best practices in refugee and immigrant health. It also provides invaluable and inclusive networking. In 2024, the conference welcomed 1,083 clinicians, resettlement, academics, policy-makers, students and community members from 45 US states, 7 Canadian provinces and 19 other countries. Attendees reported serving over 1.4 million refugees.
About the Conference Scholarship Application
This year, through generous donations from individuals, the Society of Refugee Healthcare Providers (SRHP) will offer a limited number of free registrations to people resettled to North America as refugees. The number of scholarships awarded depends on donations made by individuals when they register for the conference. Since scholarships are based on donations, we may not be able to award scholarships until close to the conference start date.
Scholarships are for the registration fee only. Travel, lodging, and food are not covered. It is not a cash award. If awarded, the Society will provide the awardee with instructions for registering for the conference and waive the fee.
Eligibility Criteria
Priority for scholarships will be given to individuals who:
● Identify as having personal or family experience of displacement and resettlement
● Are studying or working in clinical or health-related services
Scholarship Process
● Scholarships will be available on a first come, first served basis; they will be awarded in the order of those that apply and based on if applicants meet the eligibility criteria.
● SRHP will maintain a waitlist, so if an applicant’s plans has changed and they can’t attend, then the award will be given to those on the waitlist.
