As part of the City’s Five-Year Consolidated Planning process, the City of Idaho Falls is conducting an analysis of impediments to fair housing choice. The Study is required by the U.S. Department of Housing and
Urban Development (HUD) as a condition for receiving federal housing and community development funds. The goal of the study is to help identify the barriers that exist to fair housing choice in Idaho Falls as a means to create a better housing environment for the City and its residents.
Fair housing is the protection guaranteed by the Fair Housing Act and prevents people from discrimination when they are renting or buying a home, getting a mortgage, seeking housing assistance or engaging in other housing related activities. HUD defines impediments to fair housing choice as any actions, omissions or decisions taken to restrict housing choice or availability of housing choice based on an individuals race, color, religion, sex, disability status, familial status or national origin.
This survey will ask you about your experiences and opinions regarding fair housing within the City of Idaho Falls. Your answers are anonymous and will be reported as part of a compilation with other respondents. The survey takes most respondents about 10 minutes to complete.
