The Chicago Department of Planning and Development (DPD) invites all interested professionals, service providers, tradespeople and community or nonprofit organizations who work in the historic preservation field to apply to staff a table at the 2026 Chicago Preservation Expo.

At this event, you will have an outreach opportunity to connect with residents across Chicago, educate community members about the many facets of historic preservation, and connect them with critical resources and services to start or advance their own historic preservation efforts.

DPD will select organizations based on applicant experience in historic preservation.

Who Should Apply?
  • Not-for-profit organizations that provide technical assistance, financial incentives and/or advocate for historic preservation
  • Financial institutions with dedicated funding programs for the rehabilitation of historic properties
  • Consultants that research and write about historic properties, or that help property owners access financial incentives
  • Vendors or supplier whose products are used in restoration or rehabilitation of historic buildings
  • Architects and engineers who specialize in the assessment and rehabilitation of historic buildings, materials and systems
  • Trades workers or contractors who specialize in traditional materials and restoration of historic building.
  • Organizations or companies that foster education, training and skills building and/or provide hands-on preservation trades experience
