Iowa Community Action Association (ICAA) is a 501(c)(3) state association hosting Spark: A Summit for Good. This transformative summit is a convening of Community-Based Organizations and their advocates interested in creating pathways for economic mobility to strengthen Iowa communities, families, and individuals.
ICAA is seeking workshop presenters for this event, being held at The Meadows Events and Conference Center (Altoona, Iowa) July 23+24, 2025.
This event is designed for Community Action Agency Staff, Board Members and Nonprofit Partners seeking to learn the latest insights, innovative strategies, and opportunities to catalyze positive change in the world.

Proposal Submissions are due by February 14th.
We are seeking presenters to address a variety of topics that can be delivered through interactive workshops, engaging work sessions that include action-planning, and/or roundtable discussions:
Advocacy Strategies (i.e. tools for storytelling; translating data into stories and using data visualization tools for fundraising/advocacy/educating the community; building relationships with policymakers; creating advocacy plans; etc.)
Client-Centered Engagement (i.e. implementing models to increase human capacity to provide and sustain services to diverse populations and, in turn, transform communities and identify improvement areas to enhance services and outcomes; case management tools and takeaways for dynamic, capacity driven partnerships with participants)
Strategic Partnerships to Leverage Funds and Other Resources (i.e. identifying opportunities to braid (weave together) federal, state, local, and private funding streams to improve program impacts and outcomes within communities)
Human Resources (i.e. supervisory skills; employee coaching; mental health, wellness and self-care; managing stress; crucial conversations; emotional intelligence; de-escalation)
Innovative Community-based Approaches (i.e. approaches with a measurable impact on addressing the causes and alleviating the effects of poverty, such as economic mobility, workforce development, and whole family approaches, which create opportunities for, and address the needs of, parents and children together)
Serving Underserved Areas (i.e. strategies for engaging hard to reach populations and opportunities for collaboration when working in areas or communities with limited community services)
Weatherization Assistance Program Training (Tier One and BPI CEUs preferred)
