1. Formative Assessment and ABA Compliance

Dear Colleagues,

In order to comply with ABA Standard 314, we must ascertain to what degree we are using formative assessments in our teaching. A formative assessment is designed to help a student learn rather than simply assigning a grade (although a formative assessment may be given a grade value or it may not).  The key to formative assessments is the opportunity for feedback.

For each of the courses that you teach, please fill out this survey checking the boxes of the types of formative assessments you offer in class and providing a summary of the feedback that you offer, such as a grading rubric, in-class discussion, or written feedback on papers.
