2023 Zion Baptist Church Educational Scholarship Application Form

Instructions

We will recognize Zion members who are graduating or being promoted from any level between preschool through post-graduate, as well as from other programs (e.g., Ushering School) during our Graduates Day celebration following the worship service on Sunday, June 4, 2023. We also will award scholarships to Zion members who are high school graduates who meet the scholarship requirements listed below:

1. Active Member of Zion Baptist Church according to Article VIII, Section 4(a) of the Constitution and Bylaws;
2. Participates in a Zion Baptist Church ministry at least one full year during high school;
3. Is a graduating high school senior or a GED recipient prior to the Fall 2023 enrollment term;
4. Intends to pursue higher education in Fall 2023;
5. Submits a fully completed Scholarship Application by May 21, 2023; and
6. Provides a copy of the acceptance letter from the institution that the student will be attending and photo.

Criterion 1 is a firm requirement and cannot be waived. Students who do not meet any of the requirements between 2 and 6 and want to be considered for a Zion Baptist Church Scholarship must complete BOTH this application AND an Exception Consideration Request at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/2023ZBC-ExceptionRequest for the College Ministry's consideration.

To be included,you must complete the following requirements by Sunday, May 21, 2023:

(1) Submit all the information on the form below ; and

(2) Send a copy of the graduate's college acceptance letter and photograph to the College Ministry by (a) uploading to this application as provided below; (b) via email to collegeministry@zionbaptistchurch.net; or (c) via U.S. mail to Zion Baptist Church College Ministry, c/o Deacon Minette Barnes, 8104 Hollygate Drive, Glenn Dale, MD 20769.

Please note that if you are awarded a scholarship, your social security number also is required; we will contact the student at the phone number provided to obtain that securely. If you have any questions about this application, send them to collegeministry@zionbaptistchurch.net.
