Student Poster Presentations

Posters related to anesthesia are requested from members completing their Master's and Doctoral programs for presenting at the TxANA 2023 Annual Convention, January 21-23, at the Hilton Austin in Austin, TX. CRNAs wishing to present a poster not completing a program may also participate. Submissions are anticipated to reflect a wide range of practice-related issues, including innovations and service delivery.
The deadline to apply is December 15, 2022.
Accepted poster presenters will be required to:
  • Set up the poster, which includes hanging it up before the start of the meeting at 8:00 a.m., Saturday, January 21 and removal must be completed by 5:30 p.m., Sunday, January 22.
    • Materials may not be hung on walls, draperies, etc. No other furniture, free-standing equipment, etc., are permitted. An 8 ft wide x 4 ft high corkboard will display your poster. The actual display space is 88 1/2 inches wide x 44 inches tall; the poster must conform to the allotted space. Posters have no other dimension requirements except to stay within these parameters.
    • No other provisions will be supplied for display purposes except the board. Please bring thumbtacks to affix the poster to the board. Neither the TxANA nor the hotel will be held responsible for posters or materials displayed. Poster presenters are responsible for hanging and removing posters.
  • Attend the entire meeting and be ready to present posters at a preassigned time to discuss research and answer questions. Accepted poster presenters will be given a complimentary registration to the meeting. Travel costs will not be reimbursed.
Tips for Preparing the Poster:
  • Follow the format.
  • The title should be short and attract the attention of those passing by the poster. It should be readable at a distance of four to five feet.
  • The typeface should be large enough to make reading easy at a distance.
  • Allow for plenty of white space throughout the poster to avoid a cluttered appearance.
  • Posters should contain highlights of the project.
  • Various illustrations, including figures, tables, graphs, drawings, photographs, etc., can be used.
  • Keep the poster professional.
