While earthquake and tsunami hazards vary from region to region, the Virgin Islands, along with the rest of the Caribbean region is prone to earthquakes. You could be anywhere when an earthquake strikes: at home, at work, at school or even on vacation. What you do now will determine your quality of life after the next earthquake. Are you prepared to survive and recover quickly? The annual ShakeOut exercise is a good opportunity to practice how to be safer during earthquakes: "Drop, Cover and Hold On”

ShakeOut has also been organised to encourage you, your community, your school, or your organisation to review and update earthquake and other emergency preparedness procedures to help the BVI prevent loss of life, injury and damage.

Thank you for registering to participate in the ShakeOut exercise.

For more information, reach out to any member of the DDM team at 468-4200. We look forward to helping you Be Ready!
