Welcome! Thank you for choosing to volunteer at Camp Mak-A-Dream this summer. We could not offer our programs without the generous support of people like you and look forward to having you with us at Camp.

Because the safety of our participants is a top priority, all new volunteers are required to go through some training materials prior to arriving at Camp. This allows you to prepare at your own convenience, without spending an additional day at Camp for training. We appreciate the time you take away from friends, family, school or work in order to join us and want to minimize the impact on your personal lives. We hope that you find this process convenient and helpful.

At Camp Mak-A-Dream, we view training as a process that begins in advance of your arrival and progresses throughout your week at Camp. We have a well-trained, motivated and enthusiastic summer staff that is prepared to answer questions as they arise. We strive to give volunteers the support, confidence and knowledge needed to help us give our participants the best week of their lives. We also feel it is important to give you the tools required to be a successful part of our team. The Camp Manual and Volunteer Training Presentation, in addition to this questionnaire are designed to begin to prepare you for your role at camp. In addition, you will also participate in on-site training session on arrival day to go over some camp specifics (special needs, emergency procedures etc.).

The Camp Manual and Volunteer Training Presentation provide information on all of our sessions. We feel it is beneficial for all of our staff to have a general understanding of all of our programs, however, we ask that you spend the majority of your time focusing on the session you are attending and your specific role at Camp. You will find some questions directed toward specific jobs at camp (Medical Staff, Cabin Only, Dream Team Only). You only need to answer the questions applicable to your role at camp. Most of the answers can be found in the manual. There are, however, a couple of questions that rely on common sense.

Please complete this questionnaire within one month of receiving your confirmation packet. This gives us time to review your answers and complete our preparatory work prior to our season. We will contact you if we have any questions or concerns. Our contacting you does not preclude you from joining us; it may simply mean that we feel a policy needs clarification. The remainder of your paperwork needs to be sent to our office no later than 2 weeks prior to your arrival. We suggest you return all of your information as soon as possible. During this process, you are encouraged to contact us with any questions. Thank you for your help and cooperation!

We are looking forward to a fantastic summer. Thank you for your part in making Camp possible!
