2021 SIG Parent Recommendation Form
Dear SIG applicant,
Thank you for your application to the Summer Institute for the Gifted. The following recommendation form may be used toward admittance into a 2021 SIG program if no local gifted program exists in your community and/or you are unable to submit qualifying test scores from standardized tests or talent searches. If your child does participate in a gifted program, then the teacher should forward documentation of his/her participation to SIG and no further recommendation is required.
Two completed Recommendation Forms are required. Please have both forms completed by educators who teach a core content area such as English language arts, math, science, or social studies and are familiar with your creative achievements, pursuits, and potential. Educators should be familiar with your child’s current work and abilities, at least within the last two years. If the school system will not provide a recommendation, we will also accept those written by private instructors or other individuals familiar with your child’s accomplishments and abilities.
For the Investigators Program (students ages 5-8 only), a parent may complete one letter of recommendation. Additionally, the Educator Recommendation Form can be submitted online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/2021_SIG_Educator_Recommendation.
When we have received both recommendation forms, we will review the entire application and notify you of your child’s status. Please allow one week for review.
