Abstract Submission Form

Join us June 8-10, 2021 for the Nurses Reshaping the Workforce: From Crisis to Innovation 2021 Virtual Conference, hosted by the National Forum of State Nursing Workforce Centers in partnership with National Nurse-Led Care Consortium. The entire conference will be virtual and conducted through Zoom. Presentations will be scheduled throughout each day. Administrators, Clinicians, Faculty, Researchers, Scholars, and Students interested in speaking or presenting at the conference are warmly invited to submit a conference abstract.

The National Nurse-Led Care Consortium and the National Forum for State Nursing Workforce Centers are committed to creating a conference that supports diversity, equity, and inclusion. We both encourage and expect abstracts to address issues related to building a more inclusive and just society, including anti-racism, LGBTQ+ affirming care, economic justice, and more.

Abstracts will be scored on their applicability to one or more of the following outcomes:
  1. Address the impact of the Future of Nursing 2020-2030 report
  2. Explain how data can influence change and improvements in the health of the nation
  3. Heighten advocacy for policies that drive improvements in the healthcare system
  4. Initiate innovations that expand the practice of nursing
  5. Develop tools and strategies to create pathways for the next generation of nurse leaders
Submitted abstracts will be considered for the following sessions:
  • Poster Presentation - Present your scholarly work (research or quality improvement activity) in a virtual poster with opportunities for Q&A.
  • Rapid Fire - A series of speedy presentations in lieu of a poster. Presenters get maximum of 10 slides. The result is a fast and fun presentation which lasts 7-8 minutes and questions will be answered by the presenters at the end.
  • Short Plenary Presentation - A presentation in which speakers discuss specific topics, related to conference outcomes, before an audience. Can submit individually. Presenters provide a 25-minute presentation with 5 minutes for Questions & Answers from the audience.
  • Long Plenary Presentation - A presentation in which speakers discuss specific topics before an audience. Can submit individually. Presenters provide a 45-minute presentation with 15 minutes for Questions & Answers from the audience.

Abstract Requirements (250 word limit):
The body of the abstract must include a brief description of the project or program with:
  • Background/Opportunity for Improvement
  • Aims/Purpose/Desired Outcomes
  • Method/Design/Project
  • Findings/Results
  • Conclusions/Outcomes
  • Implication(s) for policy or practice or professional development
Resume/CV and/or Biosketch and Conflict of Interest Form (COI) will need to be uploaded. Resume, CV, Biosketch must be current - within the last 12 months. Continuing Education will be offered to participants.

Abstracts are being accepted until Sunday, February 7, 2021 by 11:59 pm ET.

Note: Sources of funding or support for the project or program detailed in the abstract must be disclosed. All authors listed on the abstract must disclose information that may indicate potential conflict of interest (i.e., financial agreements, organization affiliations) with the topic of the abstract. Individuals are allowed to submit only ONE abstract as the PRIMARY AUTHOR. Do not use capital letters in the abstract title and do not bold or italicize any of the text in the abstract.

This form must be submitted by Sunday, February 7, 2021 at 11:59 pm ET. Abstract acceptance letters will be sent in early March, 2021. At least one abstract author must register and pay to attend the conference. Incomplete applications WILL NOT be submitted for review. A Resume/CV and/or Biosketch for the primary presenter must accompany the submission.
