Maker 1: Daniel Pettersen, Based in Brisbane, I have been making knives in my spare time for the last 3 years. Knifemaking quickly became a fascination of mine because the possibilities and designs are endless. I like to challenge my knifemaking abilities and what better way than to test one of my choppers. 
Knife: "Based Off Jason Knights Elemental Chopper.
80CRV2 Blade, Ebony Handle. All hand forged to finished dimensions.
300mm blade length, 6mm spine"

Maker 2: Russell Cooper, I started knife making November of last year after doing a course at Tharwa Valley Forge. I’m in Canberra where I have mainly been doing smallish kitchen knives for myself and family. I did the challenge this year to extend myself and make the largest knife I’ve made so far. Great fun, learnt a lot. 
Knife: 1075 machete 300mm blade 48mm wide 5.8mm spine stabilised scales with black G10 liners. 3 brass tube pins and 1 mosaic logo pin.

Maker 3: Matthew Donaldson, i am a bladesmith working out of victoria making culinary knives, i joined the challenge because i wanted to test my forging skills and have a bit of fun.
Knife: a lin rhea inspired d guard chopper fully forged

Maker 4: Will Mead, I’m a chef during the week and love making knives and swords on the weekend! I have a basic setup at home and try to do as much as I can by hand and just use power tools only when necessary. My setup is small and simple, but it suits me well.
I’m based in Frenchs Forest NSW.
I wanted to challenge myself to create a blade that would take a good beating and still keep going! Also to learn more about forging and further my knowledge!"
Knife: Forged 1084 steel full tang, Tasmanian oak handles with brass pins. 50cm blade & 15cm handle.

Maker 5:Jake, I'm former military been making blades for a few years currently probationary guild member based out of Townsville. I joined the challenge basically because I haven't done one before 
Knife: Blade is forged from 6mm Sup9 approx 500mm overall length with approx 350mm cutting edge .5mm behind the edge and stabilized banksia handle.
