The International Economic Development Council (IEDC) is hosting its 2021 Annual Conference in Nashville, Tennessee from October 3 - 6, 2021 . IEDC is seeking compelling session ideas to ensure a comprehensive and diverse program. This is an opportunity to highlight success stories, lessons learned, share cutting-edge ideas, and engage your colleagues at the premier event for economic development practitioners.

Conference Theme: Creative Economic Development
Tennessee has reinvented itself from its once agricultural economy and has embraced a more tourism based and technologically driven ecosystem. The state ranked #1 in the U.S. for the lowest state debt per capita and in in fact, Inc. Magazine named the host city Nashville #4 best place to start a business in America. Tennessee is also ranked highly for global access, growth, and infrastructure.

We are now accepting relevant session ideas that highlight case studies on your communities ability to reinvent, adapt, and innovate inclusively and creatively in the following areas:

(1) Leadership development
(2) Fostering Talent
(3) Promoting IEDC and the Profession
(4) Supporting Economic Diversity and Inclusion and
(5) Economic Transformation

The deadline for submission is January 15, 2021

- Ideas coming from IEDC members receive the highest consideration. If you are not a member, consider joining IEDC today! Click the link for more details: www.iedconline.org/join
- IEDC reserves the right to add, edit or make changes to the submitted idea.
- IEDC reserves the right to combine session ideas on the same or similar topic.
- All session ideas become property of IEDC upon receipt. Session ideas or speaker recommendations not accepted for the Annual Conference may be used in future IEDC programming.
- Strong session ideas are respectful of diversity in terms of race, ethnicity, gender, and geographic location.
- IEDC welcomes all input but session ideas that are respectful of community type, and countries are strongly encouraged.
- In order to keep membership dues and registration fees to a minimum for our members, IEDC is unable to pay speaker’s or moderator’s travel expenses, honorarium or speaker’s bureau fees.
- Speakers and moderators interested in attending the conference outside of their session will be expected to register and pay for the conference.
- Speakers who are proposed for several sessions will be confirmed for only one session.
