INSTRUCTIONS

*PLEASE NOTE: The Best of HB Awards is open to ALL businesses in Huntington Beach unless otherwise indicated. This means you can nominate any business (small to large) and they don't have to be a Chamber Member! The Best of HB Awards recognizes all businesses within the community.  Nominate your favorite businesses/organizations, events or person in various categories. You may make multiple nominations in a single category, but nominees should only be considered in one category, i.e. a single business should not be nominated more than once. Please read each category description carefully and consider introducing new nominees before nominating 2021 winners.

  • When filling out the survey, if you wish to skip a category, simply type "N/A" in the text box. Note that once you have submitted the survey, you cannot modify your answers or answer the categories you entered "N/A".

* 1. Mālama: A person or organization directly involved in public service (i.e., police, fire, first responder, ocean and marine safety, etc.) that has led by example in the community and has gone above and beyond the call of duty.

* 2. Kuleana (aka Living Green): Nominate an organization making the most considerable effort in helping others to be more eco-conscious or offering environmentally friendly products.

* 3. Alaka’i (aka Local Legend): Nominate a person that has gone above and beyond to help others grow and succeed in our community. This person leads by example, exemplifies service through volunteer work and has tirelessly given back to the community in various ways.

* 4. Hui Aloha: Nominate the most actively involved individual, charity, or community-oriented non-profit organization.

* 5. 'Ono: Nominate the best food and beverage business (i.e., catering company, restaurant or local food service establishment) in Huntington Beach.

Kumu: Nominate a teacher, professor, person in the education sector or organization that has gone the extra mile to help students in the HB community face or overcome challenges presented by the Coronavirus pandemic. This can be demonstrated through providing meals for families, offering free learning programs online, or giving students the proper tools to succeed in distance learning or homeschooling.

* 7. Kākou (Small Business Category): Nominate the best small business (15 employees or less) in the community that has made an exceptional track record for community involvement through donations, programs, community service and helping others.

* 8.  Ho’ohana (Medium Business Category): Nominate the best medium business (16 - 50 employees) in the community that has made an exceptional track record for community involvement through donations, programs, community service and helping others.
