The State of California created new funding called the Expanded Learning Opportunities (ELO) program to fund after school and summer school programs for Transitional Kindergarten through sixth grade students. The Durham Unified School District and the Durham Recreation and Park District are partnering to provide more opportunities for Durham students with this new funding. The funding may provide a free after school program and summer programs for families that qualify based on family income levels. The Durham Recreation and Park District will continue its fee based programs as well.
