Dear Parents/Guardians:

Thank you for your interest in Little Cubs Preschool at Marshall Public Schools.  Little Cubs Preschool programs offer learning opportunities for children in a play based learning environment, to gain both social and academic skills necessary for Kindergarten Readiness.

Little Cubs Preschool is a 4 Star Rated Parent Aware Program.  Four-star rated programs are excelling in the use of best practices in preparing kids for Kindergarten.  We are also a Voluntary Pre-K program.  We offer FREE programming for all students who are four years old by September 1, 2020 due to VPK funding.  Free breakfast is also available to all full day four year olds. Special needs students will need to complete a meal benefit lunch application to qualify for the free breakfast program.  Transportation is also included for four year olds.  Programming takes place in two buildings.  There is one classroom at Park Side School and 5 classrooms at the Marshall Middle School, in the early childhood wing.

Registration is now open for the 20-21 school year.  Class size is limited, once spots are full, students will be added to a wait list.  You will be notified by mail of your child’s class schedule, building and teacher by April 17.  Half day programming will be 4 or 5 half days from noon to 3pm; full day programming will be a combination of full days from 8am-3pm.

Parents are responsible for supplying snack once a month throughout the year for the class, Dixie cups for snack, school supplies and an extra pair of clothes.  Throughout the year there will also be special opportunities your child’s teacher will plan and ask for your help with supplying or providing items for.

Classroom Engagement Model is an implementation that Little Cubs Preschool participates in and we want to strengthen relationships with families.  We highly recommended that each family participate in ECFE classes; ECFE classes can help your child become comfortable at school.  Early Childhood staff will also offer two family engagement nights throughout the school year and parent/teacher conferences.
