The Citizens Advisory Council (CAC) is accepting applications for new members for the 2020-2021 school year. The mission of the CAC is to improve the education of the children, youth, and adults of Yorkville Community Unit School District 115 by advising the superintendent regarding educational and other issues facing the district.
Goals: The goals of the CAC are to:
1) Study and discuss problems, issues, and questions in public education of concern to the school district and to report the results of its activities to district administration and/or the Board of Education.
2) Advise district administration regarding policies of the district.
3) Facilitate cooperation and communication in educational affairs between the schools/district and the community.
Applications will be reviewed and those chosen for election to the council will be contacted in advance of the start of the 2020-21 school year.
Members are elected to a three-year term. The council meets the first Thursday of each month during the school year from 6-8 p.m. Any changes to meeting frequency or dates/times will be communicated in advance of the school year. Child care is NOT provided and you will be expected to make your own arrangements in order to attend meetings.
Attendance at meetings is critical to the council’s success and members are expected to attend all scheduled meetings. Those not attending may be subject to removal from the council.
