Before you begin your application, please read the following carefully.
Application Elements
In addition to this online application, there are two additional elements:

1. School Acknowledgement & Official High School Transcript - to be completed by your high school Principal or their designee. 
2. Recommendation Form - to be completed by a teacher/work supervisor

Both additional elements can be found at rosefestival.org/programs/rose-festival-court.

It is still the applicant's responsibility to ensure all elements of the application are submitted by the deadline. You are welcome to call the Portland Rose Festival Office (503-227-2681) for an update on the status of your application at any time.
Judging Standards
Character (50%) – Participates in school, community, and other activities, demonstrates good citizenship, shows a desire to help others

Communication Skills (25%) – Clear and articulate speech, animated and expressive storytelling, good grammar and eye contact

Presence (25%) – Composed under pressure, adaptable to new situations, enthusiastic and engaged
Please note that any information you submit as a part of this application may be shared with judges, the media, and/or the public. 
Eligibility Criteria 
Please confirm you meet the following eligibility criteria before continuing with the application. 
  • Be female identifying
  • Attend a 4A, 5A or 6A high school in Multnomah, Washington or Clackamas Counties
  • Be a senior graduating in 2020 or junior on track to graduate in 2021
  • Have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (Applicants with GPA between 2.75 and 3.0 with exigent circumstances may still be eligible; but must complete a variance form as a part of this application.) 
  • Have performed a minimum 20 hours of community service during high school

  • Attend one mandatory Court Q&A Information session:
    • Saturday, January 11, 2020  (Afternoon)
    • Tuesday, January 14, 2020 (Evening)
  • Participate in the Court Judging process: Saturday, February 1, 2020 (subject to change)
  • Participate in your school’s Rose Festival Court Announcement assembly (not applicable for Metro East & West positions)
  • Submit a complete application must by Wednesday, December 11, 2019
