The Categories

The Social Innovation category honors a local trailblazing team that shook things up, challenged the status quo, and was the first to introduce a creative solution to an ongoing issue or problem. The team's sustainable solution has delivered results proving that it is more effectively and efficiently improving the lives of their program participants.

The Collective Power category honors an unstoppable collaborative team that may include local nonprofits, funders, government, business, and/or community leaders, that has gone beyond serving a population and implemented systemic and sustainable improvement that solved big problems. This team achieved greater system-wide results than one organization could have realized on its own and, as a result, established a new standard of excellence. The applying organization must be a member of the Nonprofit Center, but their partners are not required to be members.

The Awards, developed as a result of the Moving Forward Together initiative, will be presented virtually every week from May 15 through June 19, 2020. Applications are due no later than 11:59 PM Sunday, May 10, 2020. Every application will be considered for both the 2020 Local Focus. Lasting Impact.™ Moment recognition and the 2020 Local Focus.
