Welcome to the 2020 Ignition Program Application

Thank you for your interest in applying for the 2020 enke: Ignition Program Winter Intakes (Limpopo and Free State) targeting Limpopo, Mpumalanga, North West, Free State, Eastern Cape, Northern Cape, KwaZulu Natal, Western Cape and Gauteng provinces.  Note that program activity for this intake is as follows:

  • APPLICATION: Completion of the online application form. Forms will be available as from 11th of March –  15th of May 2020, 23:59pm .
  • SELECTIONS: Applicants will be informed of their application status by the 25th of May 2020
  • TRAINING at the Ignition Program Training Retreat: Dates to be confirmed (Inclusive); this is a residential training retreat.
  • PRACTICAL SKILLS BUILDING through Online Facilitation Skills Assessments: These are bi-weekly online assignments and challenges to increase your facilitation skills. They also increase your chances of being selected for Forum.
  • ACTION at the 2020 enke: Forum Limpopo/Free State: - Selected participants may be selected to deliver training content to, and mentor, high school learners at the enke: Forum. To be selected, participants must have shown commitment and engagement with the Ignition Program, completed their online skills assessments, as well as demonstrating high potential of skill in facilitation.
  • RECOGNITION: Participants will receive a certificate of completion and reference letter for their activities in the Ignition Program.

    1. Why do you want to be part of the enke: Ignition Program?
    2. What leadership training and/or experience have you had?
    3. What coaching/facilitation training and/or experience have you had?
    4. Tell us about a project that you planned and implemented.
    5. What is one (1) social issue that is having a negative impact on your community that you want to see changed
Eligibility
To be participate in the Program, applicants must be:

  • Between 18-30 years old.
  • Passionate about making a difference, want to build their resume with volunteer experience, or looking for an experience to expand their networks and skills.
  • Must be able to commit to all program activities which are as follows: 
  1. In-Person Training at the Ignition Program Training Retreat: Dates to be confirmed
  2. Online Training: Ignition Program Selection Assessments: Practical online activities taking place from: Date to be confirmed
  3. Action by delivering content and mentoring high school learners at the enke: Forums (dates and venues to be confirmed in April 2020)
