2020 Volunteer Tennessee Award of Excellence Program for Schools - Form for Previous Awardees |
2020 Award of Excellence for Volunteerism and Service-Learning Recognition for 2018-2019 School Year
Volunteer Tennessee is pleased to announce that we have created a short application form that allows previous Award of Excellence (formerly Seal of Approval) honorees to continue to be recognized for their service.
As you know the Volunteer Tennessee Award of Excellence Program for Schools is intended to provide recognition for K-12 schools (both private and public) engaged in volunteerism and service. The Award of Excellence program provides an opportunity for schools to be recognized for outstanding work in the area of service, service-learning, and volunteerism. The purpose of the recognition is to promote youth engagement in the improvement of their local communities. Critical areas of focus defined by the Foundations of Service Committee as high quality educational opportunities are food security, mentorship of school aged children, and homelessness. ALL focus areas are eligible and encouraged to apply.
Schools will be recognized at the Tennessee Conference on Volunteerism and Service Learning on February 9-11, 2020 in Franklin, TN.
Application: In order for a school to re-apply for the Volunteer Tennessee Award of Excellence for their 2018-19 school year activities, the school must be able to demonstrate continual commitment to service through existing and additional programs. Re-applying schools must complete the electronic application for consideration by December 6, 2019. Schools will be notified by December 16, 2019.
