We're seeking volunteers to host a few local field trips during the 2019 New York Land Conservation Conference in Saratoga Springs, New York May 2-3, 2019.
The optional trips will be open to all conference attendees and will take place on the afternoon of Thursday, May 2nd, from 1pm - 5pm. These trips are fun, educational, recreational and should be designed to showcase local landscapes and area attractions!

We expect the event to bring together around 250 participants representing professionals, volunteers, agency staff and conservation advocates from a spectrum of land, water and community conservation organizations across New York State.

SELECTION CRITERIA
The ideal field trip:
1) Is within a 30-45 minute drive to/from Saratoga Springs
2) Does something physical and preferably outside
3) Experiences the local flavor of the Saratoga Springs/Capital Region of NY
4) Can provide a backup option in case of foul weather

FIELD TRIP LEADER RESPONSIBILITIES
• Design a field trip that focuses on a land conservation project and/or showcases a local attraction that can accommodate 25-50 people.
• Accompany the field trip from start to finish. The Field Trip Leader should be the person who fully understands the logistics of the event and is responsible for keeping the trip on schedule. He or she should accompany the tour group the entire time, beginning and ending at the Saratoga City Center.
• Develop the field trip itinerary, including the schedule, route and driving directions
• Coordinate appropriate transportation for your trip (staff or attendee carpools, organization vehicles that you could use for transports, etc.).
