Program 5  - EQ International Competition & Development Funding

Submission of the application form indicates acceptance of the program terms and conditions outlined below.
For events conducted between 1 January 2019 - 31 December 2019. Application Closes: COB Thursday 28 February 2019

Through the Equestrian Queensland International Competition and Development Funding Program, funding is provided toward the cost of travel and/or accommodation for foreign technical officials (such as judges, technical delegates, course designers and stewards) to attend Queensland FEI events, especially if they run clinics for the education of officials.

There is also funding available through this program for new national events or showcase events.

ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for the funding under this program you must meet the following criteria:
  • be an Equestrian Queensland sport committee

    Or
  • be a current Equestrian Queensland affiliate club
  • hold a current club insurance policy
  • operate as a not-for-profit organisation
  • have a philosophy that aims to develop and grow membership through increased participation in Equestrian sport
To be considered, funding must be linked to an event and be directed towards either:
a)      International Competition
  • Travel and/or accommodation cost for foreign technical officials (such as judges, technical delegates, course designers and stewards) at Australian FEI events, especially if they run clinics for the education of officials.
b)      Development of the Sport
  • Limited funding for new National events or showcase events.
Applications require endorsement of the Chair of the respective State Discipline Committee before they are considered by Equestrian Queensland. Such endorsement must be included with the submitted application and can be emailed to education@equestrianqld.com.au

APPLYING FOR FUNDING
HOW TO APPLY
  • Ensure you have met the eligibility requirements outlined above.
  • Late and incomplete applications will not be accepted.
  • To be considered, all relevant sections of the application must be completely filled out. 
  • The maximum level of funding available for one event is $5,000 (excluding GST).
  • Complete the online application form on the EQ website answering all of the questions.
 
IMPORTANT DATES
All events and activities are to take place during the 01 January 2019  – 31 December 2019 and applications must be submitted by COB Thursday 28 February 2019.

HOW IS OUR APPLICATION ASSESSED?
To be eligible for consideration your club or sport committee must meet all the criteria.
All applicants will be notified in writing about the outcome of their application.
Equestrian Queensland reserves the right to determine priorities for the allocation of funding, taking account of:
  • the quality of the information provided; and
  • the total funds available in the program
WHAT IS REQUIRED FROM MY CLUB?

You must ensure that all sections of the online application are completed. The EQ office will contact you if further information is required to assess your application.

If successful, a valid tax invoice must be provided for the full amount [100%] of the funds and submitted to EQ no later than 30 July 2019. On receipt of a valid tax invoice, 60% of the funds will be paid within 30 days.
The remaining 40% will be paid within 30 days of receiving the post event report. Payments cannot be rolled over into the next financial year and no funding will be paid after 31 December 2019.
The post event report (acquittal template included) is to be received within 60 days of the event’s completion and should include:-
Number of riders, horses and spectators
Outline of social media platforms used, engagement and reach over the duration of the event
Any local and/or national media received
Actual profit and loss statement
If for any reason the event does not occur then EQ must be reimbursed the full funding amount within 60 days of EQ being made aware of the event not occurring.

Equestrian Queensland reserves the right to review final allocation of funding following receipt of final documentation where the information supplied differs greatly to the original application or where the terms and conditions of funding have not been met.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
EQ will be recognised as a partner of the event for our support including the provision of:-
  • Press releases (if applicable)
  • Acknowledgment on event online platforms
  • EQ’s logo is to be used and recognised as an event sponsor as part of all marketing collateral
  • EQ branding should form part of the event promotion including:-
  • PA/MC recognition
  • Logo recognition across all marketing collateral including event program, website, big screen, posters and other
  • Program advertising (where applicable)
  • Display of advertisement on big screen (if applicable)
  • The OC will, as a minimum, invite the EQ Chair and EQ CEO to all special functions held as part of the event and, should they so wish, allow the representative to present an Award.
Please note: The funding is not intended to replace funding through other sources.  We expect that organisers make every effort to make the event self-funding through sponsorship, fees from participants and spectators.

OTHER FUNDING AVAILABLE TO CLUBS AND MEMBERS

The Equestrian Queensland Sport Development Funding Program which offers $30,000 in 2019 to affiliated clubs and Equestrian Queensland Sport Committees to support development and growth in Dressage, Eventing and Jumping.

The Equestrian Queensland Sport Development Funding Regional Events Judge Assistance program in 2019 offers up to $400 to affiliated clubs and Equestrian Queensland Sport Committees to support development in Dressage, Eventing and Jumping.

As part of our ongoing commitment to increasing the standard of excellence in the sport, Equestrian Queensland provides funding for accredited coaches and officials toward the cost of attending EA/FEI nationally and internationally recognised upgrade or refresher courses. Applications must be endorsed by the relevant EQ Sport Committee.
