Rapid shifts in globalization, demographics, work styles and work sourcing are transforming the ways in which companies manage their businesses. This includes the shifting demographics or makeup of employees (i.e., the shift to more contractors/gig workers), the change in after-hours availability and schedule flexibility, the changes in workforce technologies to support transformation including cloud and mobile computing, BYOD, the globalization of the workforce due to unfulfilled staffing needs, the reduction in average worker tenure, and the growth of the non-human workforce (e.g., machine learning, AI, robotic process automation [RPA]). These shifts also open up new vectors of risk and potential threats and attacks. This new SANS survey will examine the current state of workforce transformation and risk, including workforce trends, how your organization is supporting these trends, what the associated risks are and how you are managing those risks. Please consider these factors as you think about your organization’s efforts to reduce risk represented by workforce transformation.
