Identify Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stakeholders and organisations within our communities and sphere of influence that we can connect with as we develop and implement our first RAP.

Identify opportunities to strengthen our partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander controlled organisations and service providers through agreements and MOUs.

Identify and share information about best practice approaches and principles that support partnerships and meaningful engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stakeholders and organisations.

Ensure that our Legal and Housing Needs Assessment includes consultation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples to meaningfully identify local access to justice barriers and priorities

Circulate Reconciliation Australia’s NRW resources and reconciliation materials to staff and ensure these are accessible on our shared drive.

Promote external events in our local area and encouraging staff participation.

All RAPWG staff to participate in at least one event to recognise and celebrate NRW.

Communicate our commitment to reconciliation to all staff and develop a plan to raise awareness of our RAP commitments and activities.

Identify external stakeholders and like-minded organisations that our organisation can engage with on our reconciliation journey.

Publish our Reflect RAP on our website and raise awareness via social media.

Ensure that organisational policies and procedures promote cultural safety, respect and anti-discrimination.

All staff to participate in at least one cultural competency training session.

Review HR policies and procedures to ensure cultural safety, respect and anti-discrimination in employment processes and workforce planning.

Conduct a review of cultural learning needs within our organisation.

Raise awareness of opportunities to engage with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community groups and to participate in activities – both within and outside the workplace.

At least two all-of-staff RAP sessions held through the year, with guest speakers, to raise cultural awareness.

Develop an understanding of and share information internally about the local Traditional Owners or Custodians of the lands and waters within our organisation’s operational area.

Increase staff’s understanding of the purpose and significance behind cultural protocols, including Acknowledgement of Country and Welcome to Country protocols.

As a sign of our organisation’s commitment to cultural safety and respect, display Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander symbols (such as flags and Acknowledgements of Country) in our workplace, publications, email signatures and online.

Raise awareness and share information amongst our staff about the meaning of NAIDOC Week.

Introduce our staff to NAIDOC Week by promoting external events in our local area and encouraging participation.

RAPWG members to participate in at least one external NAIDOC Week event.

RAPWG to meet bi-monthly until Reflect RAP has been endorsed, then on a quarterly basis to monitor and report on RAP implementation.

Define resource needs for RAP implementation.

Engage senior leaders in the delivery of RAP commitments.

Define appropriate systems and capability to track, measure and report on RAP commitments.

Submit our Reflect RAP to Reconciliation Australia

Monitoring implementation of our RAP and report regularly to staff and the Board

Complete and submit the annual RAP Impact Measurement Questionnaire to Reconciliation Australia reporting on achievements, challenges and lessons learned.
