The following Providence facilities are currently in negotiations for their next contract: Providence Portland Medical Center (PPMC), Providence Willamette Falls Medical Center ( PWFMC), Providence Seaside Hospital ( PSH),  Providence Home Health & Hospice (PHH&H). Providence Milwaukie Hospital (PMH) will be entering negotiations this spring.  Recently, ONA received a proposal from Providence to freeze the extended illness time (EIT) benefit beginning in 2019 and to completely eliminate it in 2020. Providence has proposed to replace the current EIT system benefit with a new paid time off (PTO) accrual system that will not increase the cap. The short term disability benefit will replace 65% of your income when you are off work and it is taxed.  However, you have to be sick/off work for seven calendar days or greater.

Providence has hosted informational meetings and put out their own information on these new proposed programs at some facilities.

Below is a side-by-side comparison.

This is a big change in how employees and their incomes are protected or compensated during times of illness.  We are doing this survey to gauge support and/or opposition for this proposal.  The survey is short.  It should only take 5 minutes.  Please encourage your peers to log on and take it.  The more people that take the survey the more accurate the results are and the more powerful the results are for purposes of our bargaining.
