Facilitator Information

We are very excited that The Book of Unknown Americans by Christina Henríquez has been chosen as the 2019 FYRE selection!  We appreciate you taking the opportunity to get involved with the First Year Experience as a facilitator of a discussion group by completing this survey. We encourage you to consider helping us coordinate an event or program throughout the year based off of the themes presented in the book.

Books are expected to arrive the last week of April - we will contact you when they are ready to pick up.

In late April we will be send another survey monkey link which will include dates to our facilitator luncheons in August.  In addition, we will be offering additional opportunities for facilitators to gather over the summer to discuss the book and how to handle difficult conversations (in collaboration with the Center for Teaching Innovation).  These events will serve as an opportunity to informally speak about the book with colleagues, gather possible questions to use at the facilitation, and become better acquainted with themes in the book.
