Teachers on the Estuary 'Estuaries 101' PTD

Requirements: Commitment to two-day workshop, plus pre- and post follow-up survey requirements. MUST be able tolerate summer temperatures, insects, and physical activity outdoors.

A total of 15 hours of Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are offered for this 2 day training.

Registration is $50 per person (non-refundable) and includes all supplies, lesson plans, food on-site transportation, and a kayak trip to North Inlet estuary. Dorm lodging available for an additional fee of $20/night per person-limited availability.

This workshop is targeted for K-5th English Language Arts (ELA) and Science teachers, highlights NOAA's Estuaries 101 curriculum and will feature children's author and educator Kevin Kurtz and activities from his book A Day in a Forested Wetland.
