Nominate a business for the Etowah Small Business of the Year Awards

Nominees will receive an email notifying them that they are a finalist and will be required to complete an online application. Finalists will be announced on August 12, 2019. Links to the online survey for voting will be sent to all members and posted on The Chamber’s website and social media sites. Winners will be announced at our Etowah Small Business of the Year (ESBY) awards celebration luncheon on October 10, 2019 at noon at 210 at the Tracks.
Eligibility Requirements
· Must be a member in good standing with The Chamber, Gadsden/Etowah County both at the time of the nomination and at the event
· A representative from the business must be present at the event to win
· Meet the additional criteria for the specific award for which the business is being nominated (see below)
· Must not have won in any category in the past 4 years
· Nominator must be a member of The Chamber, Gadsden/Etowah County and must identify themselves on the application
· Self-nominations are accepted and welcomed
· Nomination must be received in full by July 19, 2019, at 5 p.m.
· Applications from nominees must be received in full by August 2, 2019, at 5 p.m.
Categories: The committee reserves the right to move the business into another category during judging.
Emerging Business 
· 100 or Fewer Employees
· Utilizes strategic planning to stimulate and manage growth of business
· Active in the business community in Etowah County
· Demonstrates commitment to community stewardship
· Locally owned and operated, with a maximum of 5 successive years under current ownership
· For-profit venture
The requirements for the following three size-based categories are the same:
Small Business of the Year (10 or Fewer Employees)
Small Business of the Year (11 to 50 Employees)
Small Business of the Year (51 to 100 Employees)
· Utilizes strategic planning to stimulate and manage growth of business
· Active in the business community in Etowah County
· Demonstrates commitment to community stewardship
· Locally owned and operated, with a minimum of 2 successive years under current ownership
· For-profit venture
Minority and/or Women-Owned Business of the Year
· Must be woman or minority-owned with at least 51% ownership in the business
· 100 or fewer full-time local employees
· Utilizes strategic planning to stimulate and manage growth of business
· Active in the business community in Etowah County
· Demonstrates commitment to community stewardship
· Locally owned and operated, with a minimum of 2 successive years under current ownership
· For-profit venture
Non-Profit of the Year
· Demonstrates good stewardship of donor dollars and sound business practices while meeting commitment to its organization mission
· A strong local community involvement and/or proven effective partnership with the business community
· Non-profit organization, fully accredited as a 501(c) (3)
· Operating history of at least three years with 100 or fewer full-time local employees
· Maintain a local office or consistent local presence.
