Nonprofit Leadership Certificate Application Instructions

The Nonprofit Leadership Certificate Program improves the effectiveness of nonprofit leaders and their organizations through targeted focus on personal leadership development and industry best practices.
 
The CNM and SMU CAPE Nonprofit Leadership Certificate Program has been redesigned and expanded for nonprofit professionals who have demonstrated a high potential for leadership and a willingness to develop their talent for a greater organizational impact. The Nonprofit Certificate focuses on personal leadership development in an environment that allows you to collaborate and learn with your peers.

The Leadership Certificate program is ideal for candidates who meet the following criteria: participants should have five years of experience in the nonprofit sector, five years of management experience, be an aspiring executive leader who is currently in a senior management position and/or a first-time or new Executive Director/CEO.

Designed by nonprofit leaders for nonprofit leaders, this program focuses on personal leadership development in an environment that lets you collaborate and learn with your peers. This six-week certificate program teaches industry best practices in:

·                     Assessing leadership style and building on strengths

·                     Trust and decision making

·                     Culture and change management

·                     Funding, marketing and strategy

·                     Building effective boards

Dates and Location:

     6 Fridays, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. – 2/22, 3/8, 3/22, 4/5, 4/26, 5/10

Course Fees:

     $900 (Apply by January 25)
     $1,000 (After January 25)

Course fee includes all materials, lunch and parking on SMU’s East Campus.

Application Process

1.    Complete application form by January 25, 2019.

2.    CNM and SMU will select and notify accepted individuals by February 1st, 2019.

3.    Upon acceptance into the certificate program, pay tuition fee to CNM (credit card link will be sent with your acceptance notification). Checks may be mailed to CNM at 2902 Floyd Street, Dallas, TX 75204.

All fees must be paid in full prior to the first session.


Cancellation and Refunds Policy

Once accepted, notification of the intent to withdraw from the series must be submitted in writing via email at least 48 hours prior to the first scheduled class session in order to receive a credit or refund. No refunds are permitted after the program begins. Should the program be cancelled by CNM and SMU, full tuition will be transferred or refunded.
