Diane & Bob Hoover Annual Innovation Award

ABOUT THE AWARD
This award acknowledges animal lifesaving initiatives or the betterment of animal welfare, through the development or application of technology.  The recipient, who will be announced at The Association Fall Conference in November 2019, will receive $10,000 and widespread awareness of the exceptional work accomplished by them.  
 
PERIOD AND ELIGIBILITY 
  • The contest period is August 28-October 1, 2019
  • You/your organization do(es) not need to be a PetPoint or Chameleon client or be a member of The Association.
  • The contest is open to legal residents of Canada (excluding Quebec), the 50 United States or District of Columbia who:
a. Have reached the age of majority in their province, territory or state of domicile at the time of entry.
b. Are an employee or volunteer of a Canadian or U.S based shelter, rescue, or other non profit animal welfare organization that provides direct care to animals in need
c. Have demonstrated a measurable/scalable impact through innovation in the development or application of technology for animal welfare
d. Have had this innovation implemented for at least one year prior to August 1, 2019.

HOW TO WIN

Following the contest period, all entries will be reviewed and judged by the designated representatives and then passed on to the official Judge panel for review.  The finalists will be awarded points for each of the following criteria:
Is/does the innovation (i) unique (ii) encourage action (iii) tell a compelling story (iv) positively impact the shelter community.
