Each year at our Annual Conference, outstanding admission professionals are recognized by EMA for their leadership, commitment, and contributions through the presentation of the Bretnall and Gourley awards. This year we’re adding a new category - EMA’s Rising Star Award!

Developed by the Admission Leadership Council and a sub-committee of EMA’s Board of Trustees, this award honors educators with ten years or less experience who have distinguished themselves and/or their schools in the field of enrollment management.

All nominees must be affiliated with an EMA member school or organization in good standing. The deadline for nominations is Wednesday, July 31.

The Gourley Award:
Given each year to a leader and educator whose concern for students and colleagues is an inspiration to those who serve in admission.

Eligibility:
- A recognized leader in the admissions field
- Demonstrates a passion for admission work, the spirit of vocation, and a devotion to service
- As a person and as a professional, modeled inspiration, commitment, and integrity
- A proven leader in developing and mentoring admission staff and modeling best practices in the recruitment and selection of students

The Bretnall Award:
Given each year to a leader and educator who has made significant contributions to the field of admission.

Eligibility:
- A recognized leader in the admissions field
- A career dedicated to advancing admission work and best practices. Exemplifies the spirit of vocation and a devotion to service.
- As a person and as a professional, modeled inspiration, commitment, and integrity
- Beyond assisting his or her own school, is making a contribution to the effectiveness, success, and future of admissions in independent schools across the country

EMA Rising Star Award:
Given each year to the educators who have distinguished themselves and/or their schools in the field of enrollment management.

Eligibility:
- Worked in admissions for fewer than 10 years
- Exemplified a passion for admission work, the spirit of vocation, and a devotion to service
- As a person and as a professional, modeled inspiration, commitment, and integrity
- Beyond assisting his or her own school, is making a contribution to the effectiveness, success, and future of admissions in independent schools across the country
