2019-20 ATODA Submission to the ACT Budget Consultation |
Dear ATODA members and stakeholders,
The ACT Government has invited stakeholders to share their views to inform priorities for investment in services and infrastructure for the 2019-20 ACT Budget. As per previous years, the Alcohol Tobacco and Other Drug Association ACT (ATODA) will be making a written submission to the budget consultation.
ATODA will be using a range of mechanisms (e.g. this survey, stakeholder meetings, advisory groups, recent submission to the ACT Drug Strategy Action Plan) to inform its submission highlighting key priorities for a stronger and more effective response to preventing and reducing alcohol, tobacco and other drug related harms in the ACT, including:
Utilising information from recent consultations
ATODA recently made submission to ACT Health in relation to the draft ACT Drug Strategy Action Plan which was informed by 5 x stakeholder consultations (between March – July 2018). These consultations identified alcohol, tobacco and other drug policy and resource priorities; information will also be used to inform the drafting of the ATODA submission to the ACT Budget 2019-2020.

Stakeholder survey (this survey)
The survey seeks to identify stakeholder priorities for a stronger and more effective response to preventing and reducing alcohol, tobacco and other drug related harms in the ACT. It includes two questions and will take only 5/10 minutes to complete.
Close date: This survey closes on Monday 1 October 2018.
Additional consultations
ATODA will engage with specialist AOD workers through a consultation at the October 2018 ACT ATOD Workers Group. A further consultation will be held with the Executives of specialist ACT ATOD services at an upcoming meeting.
Additionally, stakeholders are invited to contact ATODA CEO, Carrie Fowlie on carrie@atoda.org.au or 6249 6358 to raise further priorities for consideration as part of the ATODA submission to the ACT Budget 2019 – 2020.
