Community Exhibitor Application

Regional schools and student organizations are invited to share a class or club STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) project at the 2018 It’s All About Science Festival.

  • WHEN: Saturday, June 9th, 2018 from 9am-5pm
  • WHERE: Sanford Research Center, 2301 East 60th Street North Sioux Falls, SD 57104
  • WHY PARTICIPATE: To showcase your school/group’s scientific capabilities and to help make the mission of It’s All About Science Festival become a reality!
  • APPLICATION DEADLINE: May 4, 2018

Student Exhibits should be presented by K-12 students (with guidance from their teacher and/or adult mentor) and represent either in-school or out-of-the classroom projects. All school group exhibits are eligible to compete for special awards for their affiliated school or student organization. The Grand Prize Award is $500.

Community Exhibits will be assigned a morning or afternoon session (9am-12:30pm or 1:30pm-5pm). During that time, they will be visited by members of the Science Festival Committee to hear about their projects and ask questions. While you are only required to be present for your assigned time slot, you are invited to showcase your work through the entire Science Festival (9am-5pm). An exclusive classroom exhibitor pizza lunch will be served from 12:30pm-1:30pm.

Don’t let transportation costs keep you from participating! There are a limited number of transportation scholarships set aside to help Student Exhibitors and their adult helpers get to Sioux Falls. For information on assistance with transportation costs please contact the Planning Committee directly by email (sciencefestival@sanfordhealth.org); subject line: Transportation Scholarships).

To apply to present your project(s) at the festival please have an adult representative fill out the Student Exhibitor Application; you will need to provide a summary of the project/presentation. Note that multiple requests may be submitted and accepted from a single group or school – but a separate application is required for each. A member of the festival planning committee will contact you upon receipt of your application and provide additional information and recommendations regarding your participation.
