Community Internships Training Youth (C.I.T.Y.)

Thank you for participating in this exciting community succession planning program. As a business partner you will be joining the City of Thousand Oaks, California Lutheran University, the Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce, Conejo Valley Unified School District, Conejo Recreation and Park District, Ventura County Office of Education, Conejo Youth Employment Service, and Community Youth in an inspiring venture.

Your involvement will provide local youth critical skills and experience needed to be successful members of our workforce. Your participation will benefit a transitioning 11th to 12th grade student through an internship for a minimum of 10 hours a week, from June 18 through August 10, 2018 (8-week program) or July 2 through July 27, 2018 (4-week course).  They can work increased hours and/or time span than that suggested (e.g., All summer), but this is the program minimum for them to get credit.  They are also only insured during this time period.  (Insurance is provided for non-paid internships)  They must have Friday mornings off to attend a Career Skills Course at California Lutheran University.

You will also be asked to adhere to a time schedule, sign a Community Classroom Agreement (this provides the intern's insurance) and allow a CECT teacher to visit the site at least one time with advanced scheduling.

Your presence at the March 12, 2018 internship fair is also requested.  Your application must be complete by March 5 to participate in the fair and have your opportunity listed on the website.

For more information, visit www.toaks.org/city or call 805-381-7362.

Thank you in advance for your contribution to our community’s future.
