Techie Camp Student Application: CWRU, ArcelorMittal and Cognizant

With support from the Leonard Gelfand STEM Center at Case Western Reserve University, ArcelorMittal and Cognizant, TECH CORPS will implement its Techie Camp® program with 160 Elementary and Middle school students in the following schools districts throughout North East Ohio: Breakthrough Charter Schools, Cleveland Metropolitan School District, Cleveland Heights-University Heights, East Cleveland, Euclid, Warrensville Heights and South Euclid-Lyndhurst City Schools.

Techie Camp is a full-day, week-long summer experience designed specifically for elementary and middle school students. The goal of Techie Camp is to engage students in activities that can stimulate a deeper interest in technology as well as provide opportunities for them to express their imaginations. Students can take a "deep dive" into Programming, Robotics, App Development or Web Development.  

Each camp is comprised of 20 students and lead by two TECH CORPS Instructors.
Families will be responsible for transportation and lunch/two snacks/beverages.
Camps will be held at locations on Case Western Reserve University's Campus. 
 
THIS OPPORTUNITY IS ONLY OPEN TO STUDENTS WHO MEET BOTH OF THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:

-Resident of the above mentioned school districts
-Will be enrolled in the 3rd-5th (ES) grade or 6th-8th (MS) grade in the Fall of 2018

Student Selection Process:

Students interested in being selected to participate will need to complete the full application. Up to 20 students will be selected for each camp based on their application (10 points), short answer questions (60 points) and letter of recommendation (30 points). Please note that incomplete applications, including separate letter of recommendation, will NOT be considered. Students will be notified of selection by email.
