You may find it easier to type your application into Microsoft Word and cut / paste the contents into SurveyMonkey upon completion.
The "Written Responses" section should not exceed five pages, double spaced. Your font size should be 12 point, and you should use one-inch top and bottom margins, and 1.25 inch side margins. Those applications that do not follow length requirement will be disqualified.

Keep America Beautiful is the iconic national nonprofit organization that inspires and educates people to take action every day to improve and beautify their community environment.  We envision a country where every community is a clean, green, and beautiful place to live.

Keep America Beautiful invites you to submit an application for our National Community Improvement Awards.  We encourage you to compete for national recognition by honoring your business, nonprofit organization, or government agency for a relevant program / project that has taken place within the last 12 months.  Affiliates are encouraged to nominate partners.

Awards will be offered in up to four categories.  Applicants can only enter a program/project in one category.  When entering, answer questions specific to the category in which you're applying.
  • End Littering (Includes cleanup, education, prevention, and community engagement related to litter and illegal dumping.)
  • Beautify Communities  (Includes planting and/or maintenance of landscape areas, graffiti removal and education, and blight, in addition to education and community engagement related to beautification and community improvement.)
  • Improve Recycling  (Includes events, collections, education and/or community engagement related to recycling and / or waste reduction.)
  • Overall Community Improvement. (Includes a combination of two or more of the categories listed above.)
Judging:
  • Winners will be selected by a volunteer panel of current and past members of the affiliate network, Keep America Beautiful leaders, and when applicable Keep America Beautiful National Staff. 
  • One winner may be selected in each category
  • Keep America Beautiful reserves the right to not award in one or all categories.  
  • Winners may also be selected based off of other 2018 Keep America Beautiful Awards Applications
  • Winners may be selected at the discretion of Keep America Beautiful Staff. 
  • Applications or nominees from affiliates who are not in Good Standing with Keep America Beautiful will not be considered. 
  • Judges may request additional materials. 
  • All winners will be notified by Dec. 7, 2018. 
  • Awards will be presented at Keep America Beautiful's National Conference
    • February 6 - 8, 2019 in Baltimore, MD.
