2018 China: Then and Now for Leaders in Education Study Program

Leading effective and sustainable change in schools requires new thinking. The 2018 China program has been specifically designed to empower school leaders and education professionals to develop a deeper knowledge and understanding of China to support Chinese cultural and language programs in your school.
The 2018 China program provides participants with a unique opportunity to learn firsthand about a diverse and rapidly changing China. You will gain deep understanding of education in China today in the context of economic development, the urban/rural divide and everyday life.
Over ten days, participants will visit four great cities: Shanghai, the economic engine; Hangzhou, said to be like ‘heaven on earth'; Nanjing, home of one of China’s leading universities and centre of Chinese history; and Beijing, the political and cultural centre.
Opportunities to interact with Chinese educators will be provided through a Principal Forum in Hangzhou, schools visit and formal lectures at the top-ranked Nanjing University.
The program will include visits to world-famous historical sites such as the Great Wall of China and the Forbidden City, but also high-tech business regions, social enterprises, and cultural centres.

Costs:
For the first 10 participants with subsidy by the Hanban (Confucius Institute Headquarters) and the 2018 Hangzhou International Education Forum Organising Committee, the total cost is $3,700.00. This includes international airfares, Chinese visa, domestic transfer, entrance fees, single room accommodation and most meals.
