What is the Media Excellence Award?
The Media Excellence Award recognizes individual or organizational dedication to dispelling myths about sexual violence, breaking the silence surrounding this crime, and providing survivor-centered coverage of sexual violence and related topics in news, radio, print, and online media. The award will be presented to a Colorado-based media company or individual who consistently demonstrates commitment and skills in covering the topic of sexual violence. (PRESENTED AT SAAM KICK-OFF @ THE CAPITOL EVENT IN DENVER ON 4/4/18)

What is the Excellence in Sexual Assault Advocacy Award?
The Excellence in Sexual Assault Advocacy Award recognizes individual or organizational dedication to dispelling myths about sexual violence, breaking the silence surrounding this crime, and providing survivor-centered services. The award will be presented to a member agency or individual who consistently demonstrates commitment and skills in providing exceptional services, which may include prevention education work, on behalf of primary and secondary survivors of sexual violence. (PRESENTED AT CAIA CONFERENCE IN VAIL ON 6/5/18)

What is the Innovative Practices Award?
The Innovative Practices Award recognizes individual or organizational dedication to developing and implementing innovative programming or practices related to sexual violence intervention and/or prevention. The award will be presented to a member agency or individual who has gone above and beyond to create new and unique approaches to serving survivors of sexual assault and/or engaging in the prevention of sexual violence. Examples may include (but are not limited to): creative social media campaigns, groundbreaking public education initiatives, pioneering community collaborations, or inventive practices in victim/survivor services. What is the Survivor Activist Award?
The Survivor Activist Award recognizes an individual who is a survivor of sexual violence or the friend/family member of a survivor (secondary survivor). The individual is someone who has demonstrated dedication to eliminating sexual violence in Colorado by taking action to raise awareness, to work toward prevention and/or to support survivors through their healing process. The award will be presented to the survivor who has taken their dedication to this work and turned it into activism for others in either grassroots efforts or through organizational or institutional change in our state. (PRESENTED AT CAIA CONFERENCE IN VAIL ON 6/5/18)
