The 2nd annual West Virginia Bike Summit was held in late September, 2017 in Morgantown. It brought together transportation officials, engineers, policy makers, planners, and community advocates to discuss ways to make WV more bicycle friendly. The event offered interactive sessions along two tracks (Engineering/Design and Planning/Funding), continuing education opportunities for professionals, and hours of hands-on workshops to develop ideas for existing or future projects.
Whether you attended the 2017 Summit or not, WV Connecting Communities is so thankful for your feedback in hopes of making the next Summit a worthwhile experience. The League of American Bicyclists recently ranked WV the 37th most bike friendly state. That ranking has improved steadily since starting at dead last (50th) in 2010, to 48th in 2012, 44th in 2013 and 42nd in 2015.
