Application Information

The Phoenix Panhellenic Association presents the Woman of the Year award annually to a Phoenix area alumna who has exemplified the National Panhellenic Conference Mission and Creed during the last five years.

The Alumnae Relations Committee welcomes nominations (including self-nominations) from any collegiate or alumna member of any National Panhellenic Conference group for any Phoenix area alumna who meets the criteria below. A nomination can be as simple as providing the Candidate’s information to the committee chair. The committee will then notify the Candidate of the nomination (nominator may request to remain anonymous) and request she complete the Candidate Application Packet. It is our goal to have at least one Candidate from each Phoenix Panhellenic Association member group.

If you are not the nominee, but would like to submit a nomination please submit the Candidate's information including her name, sorority affiliation, email address, and phone number to alumnaerelations@phoenixpanhellenic.com by February 1, 2017.

Woman of the Year finalists will be announced in April.  The Woman of the Year winner will be announced at the Celebration of Sisterhood Banquet on May 6, 2017. All candidates will be contacted via email upon completion of the 2017 Woman of the Year Application on Survey Monkey.

Scoring Information

Each candidate will be assigned a pseudonym by the Alumnae Relations Committee Chair and is scored based upon (1) her Candidate Application Form on Survey Monkey along with her CV or resume and (2) her letter of support. The pseudonym assists the Alumnae Relations Committee members in scoring every application as blind as possible. The Alumnae Relations Committee members will use the scoring scale below to rate the candidate’s Candidate Application Form along with the candidate’s CV or resume for a total of 40 possible points. The same scoring scale will then be used to rate the letter of support for a total of 40 possible points. The two scores will be added together to determine the top finalists and the Woman of the Year.
