The Basics:

The Rocky Mountain Southwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences is proud to announce the call for nominations for those eligible for induction into the nationally recognized Gold or Silver Circles. The nominees will be vetted and finally selected by a committee comprised of past inductees into the honorary circle as well as elected members of the chapter’s Board of Governors.

The criteria for selection includes at least 25 years working in the television industry with most of that time spent in the Rocky Mountain region for the Silver Circle, and at least 50 years for consideration for the Gold Circle. Most importantly though, is the contribution to the profession and to the community that the individual has made during that time. Those candidates who have gone a step beyond their required work performance in the areas of management, talent, journalism, production, programming, promotion, engineering, and education – areas especially related to the development and distribution of content of television for the benefit of the community will be considered.

An outstanding individual may be nominated for consideration by completing this form and submitting supporting information that best describes the career of the individual. This may take the form of a resume of past positions in broadcasting, along with listings of past community activities, awards won and positive effects on the lives of colleagues and future broadcasters.

The committee can best evaluate the accomplishments of each nominee by having complete documents that describe the work of the nominee. Those documents might include up-to-date resumes, letters of recommendation, notices of awards, examples of publications/productions, and letters of commendation. In addition, the person providing the nomination should provide a letter of support that details the outstanding works of the nominee and why he or she should be selected for this honor.

Nominations are no longer carried over from year to year. A new nomination is required. Nominators: the selection committee relies heavily on what you write about the candidates. Please be thorough and specific with your comments.

The person nominating an individual for this honor will be notified by Executive Director, Lara Gates as to the status of the nomination around the end of March. Those selected for the 2017 Gold or Silver Circle will be invited to attend the Emmy® Awards Event for the induction ceremony as well as to provide a two-minute video describing their contribution to the television profession.

The induction will take place at our Rocky Mountain Emmy® Awards Gala in October.
